Florida Highway Patrol seeks hit-and-run suspect in Columbia County

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is requesting assistance in locating the driver of a white SUV that was involved in a hit-and-run Friday morning that seriously injured a person on an electric bicycle traveling on SE Diamondback Glen in Columbia County.

According to an FHP release, the vehicle was last seen on SE Diamondback Glen and US Highway 441 in Columbia County driving in an unknown direction. The incident occurred at 10 a.m. on Friday.

The small to mid-sized white SUV of unknown make and model struck a person on an electric bicycle traveling south on a powerline easement and fled the scene, not stopping to render aid to the bicyclist. The SUV was traveling west on SE Diamondback Glen.

The SUV would possibly have damage to the front of the vehicle.
