Three juveniles who allegedly burglarized vehicles in Lake City on Saturday were identified by law enforcement.

According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) release, officers responded to Brandywine Apartments at 2 a.m. on Oct. 7 to the report of subjects wearing gloves and ski masks.

When they arrived, officers were unable to locate the three subjects. The officers continued to search in an adjacent complex where one officer observed the three subjects wearing masks and standing near a vehicle. Two of the subjects stood watch as the third opened a vehicle’s passenger door and entered the vehicle.

“The Lake City Police Department remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the city. With the holidays approaching, I urge residents to continue practicing good security habits, such as locking vehicles, removing valuables from plain sight, and reporting any suspicious activity promptly” stated Lake City Police Chief Gerald Butler in the press release. “This successful identification and apprehension of these suspects serves as a reminder that cooperation between law enforcement and the community can lead to positive outcomes in solving crimes and maintaining a safe environment for all residents.”
