According to a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) social media post, officers located Elijah Moore around 12:32 a.m. on March 5 in the 900 block of E. University Ave.

Several officers responded and navigated their way through a crowd to apprehend Moore. When officers commanded Moore to lie down, a loaded Glock 26 handgun fell out of the suspect’s jacket pocket. A later teletype query showed that the gun was stolen in 2020 from Lake City.
