Alachua County Public Schools (ACPS) is now offering a free scholarship platform for students and families called Going Merry.
The Going Merry platform allows students to first create a personal profile. The service will match students with a list of scholarships for which they are eligible, which they can filter and sort. Students can then apply for their preferred scholarships through the platform, and can even apply for multiple scholarships at once, according to an ACPS release.
Going Mobile, which features a mobile app, also helps students who need to apply for financial aid through FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
The service allows districts to upload information and applications for locally based scholarships. ACPS is already working with local organizations, such as The Education Foundation, to provide information about those scholarships. An email address—scholarships@gm.sbac.edu—has been set up for any local individuals or organizations that would like their scholarship information posted on the site.
On Wednesday afternoon, the district’s high school students received an invitation through their district emails to enroll in the service. More information is available at www.goingmerry.com.
