Frazer School wins championship at Mu Alpha Theta State Convention

The Frazer School High math team recently set a state championship record while competing at the 2026 Florida Association of Mu Alpha Theta (FAMAT) State Convention, winning by an all-time margin of 576 points. 

According to a press release, 41 teams and 980 students from throughout Florida competed at the event, which was held April 17-18 in Orlando. The Frazer School team collected a total of 198 trophies at the state competition.  

The Frazer School students won three of the four divisions (Theta, Alpha and Mu) and earned a second-place finish in the Stats Division, according to the competition results. The Frazer School team bested longtime rival American Heritage (Broward) in the Theta, Alpha and Mu divisions but finished behind American Heritage in the Stats category.

“Winning by 576 points was well past the largest I could have imagined,” Frazer School coach Will Frazer said in the release. “Our kids competed in about 40 events, and there were very few areas where we could have performed better. Our kids worked very hard and were well prepared. We are excited to now take a break and then start focusing on nationals.” 

The Frazer School team will compete in the National Mu Alpha Theta Championship June 28-July 3 in Frisco, Texas.
