University of Florida to honor 4,000 graduates in five fall ceremonies

Four thousand University of Florida students are expected to graduate during the course of five fall commencement ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 11, and Saturday, Dec.12. 

According to a UF press release, the ceremonies will be held in the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center (250 Gale Lemerand Dr., Gainesville).  

The first ceremony will celebrate 265 doctoral graduates and will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday.

The second ceremony, scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, will highlight graduates receiving bachelor’s, master’s and specialist’s degrees from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences; College of Health and Human Performance; College of the Arts; College of Pharmacy; College of Medicine; College of Nursing; College of Public Health and Health Professions; and College of Veterinary Medicine.  

At 9 a.m. on Saturday, the College of Journalism and Communications and the Warrington College of Business will hold their ceremony for graduates receiving bachelor’s, master’s and specialist’s degrees.  

The second Saturday ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. and will highlight the graduates receiving bachelor’s, master’s and specialist degrees from the College of Design, Construction and Planning and College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.  

The final ceremony is planned for 7 p.m. Saturday for the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering and College of Education bachelor’s, master’s and specialist degree graduates.  

According to the release, this fall’s UF graduates come from six continents, representing 73 countries and 46 states. 

Interim UF President Donald Landry will be the speaker at all five ceremonies, the release said.
