Columbia County law enforcement arrested a man on Thursday who allegedly threw a pitchfork at a person earlier in the week.
According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) release, LCPD officers with help from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Ryan Paul McCartney, 36, of Lake City on Thursday.
The incident occurred Monday morning when LCPD officers were dispatched to NW Palm Drive to the report of a person stabbed with a pitchfork.
When they arrived, officers found a 49-year-old victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to the neck and head. Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital.
The victim and witnesses on scene told investigators that McCartney became upset following a verbal altercation and threw a pitchfork at the victim. McCartney then fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.
