The city of Gainesville will award $200,000 in grants to six local organizations as part of phase 2 of One Nation, One Project—a national project in 18 cities chosen by the National League of Cities.
The six organizations are Aces in Motion, BLSSD Future Inc., Community Impact Corporation, Dream on Purpose, Hippodrome State Theatre and the Willie Mae Stokes Community Center.
Gainesville’s focus in the project is preventing gun violence and promoting youth wellness through arts and cultural programming. The phase 2 grants will start at the beginning of 2024.
As part of One Nation, One Project, Gainesville has hosted several events throughout the year, including an Art & Culture Jamboree in April. The city opened up for phase 2 grants in October and previously selected organizations for phase 1 grants.
