The Cotton Club Museum and Cultural Center will host two separate candidate forums on Wednesday and Thursday involving candidates from the City of Gainesville and statewide races.
Wednesday’s forum, covering the Gainesville candidates, will be in person and limited to the first 100 arrivals. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the forum starts at 5:30 p.m. on both days. Thursday’s event, though, will be virtual. You can register for the Zoom meeting here.
For the Gainesville mayoral and district races, each candidate will answer five questions prepared by the organizers with 90 seconds per question. A public question and answer time will also follow.
For the state candidates, the 8th Circuit judicial contenders will give three minute statements to start. Then state congressional and senate candidates follow the same five question format but with 2-3 minutes to respond.
The event will feature candidates for Congressional District 3, State Senate District 9, and House Districts 21 and 22.
