The city of Hawthorne will hold a Sustainability and Resilience Summit on Saturday. 

The meeting is slated from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at New Generation Church, 22500 SE 71st Ave.  

Ennis Jacobs, Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, will be the keynote speaker, touching on “Building Sustainable Climate Justice Solutions for Our Most Vulnerable Communities.” The mayors of Micanopy, High Springs and Archer will also participate as moderators for different panels that discuss heat, health, food, energy and water.

Alachua County farmer Joe Nix and Alachua County’s Environmental Protection Department Director Steven Hofstetter will present the local Climate Vulnerability Study.
