Florida Department of Health in Alachua County (FDHAC) is offering influenza vaccinations at its clinics to help protect residents against seasonal flu.
According to an FDHAC release sent Monday, Health Department Administrator Paul Myers emphasized vaccination as an important preventive measure. Residents are also encouraged to stay home when sick, practice proper cough etiquette and wash their hands to help protect themselves and others.
FluMist, a nasal spray vaccine, is available at school clinics. Both FluMist and injectable flu vaccines are available at all Alachua County Health Department locations.
