UF Health, Jupiter Medical expands services

UF Health and Jupiter Medical Center announced on Tuesday that the companies started first steps to jointly “transform health care delivery, research and education,” according to a press release.

The changes would start in Palm Beach and Martin counties along with surrounding communities, and the companies hope to develop co-owned and operated facilities in the region. The press release said the relationship will help both organizations continue their “complementary missions of providing the best of academic and community medicine.”

“As an academic health center, we have assembled multi- and interdisciplinary teams whose focus is on addressing problems and devising solutions that may not be readily available elsewhere,” David Nelson, president of UF Health said in the release. “Jupiter Medical Center already has a stellar track record of high-quality care, and together we will take health care to a new level.”

The expansion continues a series of projects in South Florida. UF Health recently partnered with Scripps Research to create the UF Scripps Biomedical Research in Jupiter, and UF officials have started discussion with the City of West Palm Beach for a new downtown campus, according to the press release.
