This is a love letter to the food trucks of Gainesville and the diverse, delicious food that they offer the community.
Why it matters? A lot of favorite businesses in the area start in food trucks and transition to brick-and-mortars because of love from the community.
Vegan Gator
The traveling food truck Vegan Gator has quite a reputation throughout the state for its delicious plant-based options.
The 100% vegan food truck is best known for its burgers and wings, but another unique offering is its plant-based shrimp basket. Vegan Gator also has fries, milkshakes and sandwiches.

DJ’s Cast Iron Burgers
On University Ave., DJ’s is crafting some of the best burgers and fries. Smash burgers cooked on a cast iron griddle that are a bit crispy on the edges paired with D.J.’s signature sauce is simply heavenly. Don’t skip the fries.

Tropical Eatz
Owned by Chef J.J., a private chef in the area, Tropical Eatz specializes in Haitian and Jamaican food and Chef J.J. also has fusion items that combine the two cultures.
The truck is open on Friday and Saturday, and preordering is available all day Wednesday and Thursday and Friday morning.

Locos por tacos
Located on the corner of 13th Street and SW 18th Place rain or shine, this food truck serves up authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine. The family-run business serves quesadillas, tacos, burritos, nachos and salads.

Jewish-inspired treats from around the world so whether you’re craving latkes, shawarma, or apricot chicken—you could find it here. The menu is changed regularly because of locally sourced produce.

Mayflower Food Truck
Serving food fresh from the owner’s farm, Mayflower is best known for its burgers and house-made sausage sandwiches. The food truck pops up in different locations weekly so make sure to check their schedule that is posted weekly on Facebook.
