Florida debut author Dan Reiter will speak at The Lynx Bookstore on Friday, May 9, to promote the release of his new book, “On a Rising Swell: Surf Stories from Florida’s Space Coast.”

In a collection of essays, which was released on April 29, Reiter explores Florida’s vibrant surf culture, focusing on the Space Coast, where some of the world’s most famous surfers, like Kelly Slater and Caroline Marks, got their start. Reiter’s book highlights the history of the region’s surf community and its key figures, offering an insider’s look at this unique subculture.

Reiter, a lifelong Floridian and surfer, brings both personal insight and a deep appreciation for the area’s surfing legacy. He will discuss the making of his debut book, share stories from Florida’s surfing history, and explore the passions that drive the surf community.
