Bread of the Mighty’s annual fundraising luncheon, Empty Bowls, will be held on Thursday at the UF Hilton Conference Center in Gainesville.

The event, presented by Morgan & Morgan, will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Susan King, CEO of Feeding Northeast Florida, and Steve Spurrier, Head Ball Coach of The HBC Foundation, speaking.

The annual event, “raises awareness about food insecurity through a simple lunch of soup and bread; the empty bowl serves as a reminder that many in our community face an empty bowl on a daily basis. The organization’s signature fundraiser helps to provide healthy food and resources for those in need in the Bread of the Mighty service area,” according to a Bread of the Mighty release.
