The city of Newberry will be hosting a day full of Christmas events for the whole family on Saturday, Dec. 16. 

Gingerbread Contest:  

The Gingerbread Contest, hosted by the Newberry Main Street Organization is open to both advanced and beginner bakers.  

The contest will take place at 3 p.m. at the Newberry Municipal Building (25420 W Newberry Rd.).  

Cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place.

Parade: 

The Christmas Parade will go through Downtown Newberry and will be large floats and bands. The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m.  

Christmas on the Square:  

Immediately following the parade, join the festivities at Christmas on The Square.  

The event will begin at 6 p.m. at Country Way Town Square (1739 SW 248th Dr.). 

The event is family-friendly and will feature a night full of Christmas music, Santa Claus, bounce houses, Christmas crafts, food, beverages, photo booth and hot chocolate.
