The city of Gainesville will host a community workshop on Wednesday seeking input on an Eastside cultural arts center.
The event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Multipurpose Center (1028 NE 14th St.).
The meeting will be similar to the May workshop, which, according to the city, “is designed to hear from neighbors about their needs, interests and expectations regarding a cultural arts center in East Gainesville”
An online survey is also available to gather information. Copies of the survey also will be available at the workshop.
The information will be compiled into a study by AMS Planning & Research Corp., a national arts management consulting firm hired by the City. The AMS study will help determine the feasibility of either renovating the existing structure or creating a new cultural arts center in Gainesville.
