Local students will have an opportunity to learn ballet, modern, jazz and hip-hop for free this fall through Dance Alive National Ballet’s DanceAbout program.
The six-week program will be held at Legacy Park Multipurpose Center, located at 15400 Peggy Road in Alachua, on Mondays from Oct. 5 through Nov. 16. Classes are open to students in kindergarten through eighth grade, with separate sessions based on grade level.
Students in kindergarten through fourth grade will meet from 4 to 4:45 p.m., while students in fifth through eighth grade will attend from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m.

No previous dance experience is required, and students do not need special attire to participate.
The program will also allow students to perform in a free “Nutcracker”performance scheduled for Nov. 21.
