Family Promise of Gainesville will be hosting a fundraiser for Alachua County students that are experiencing housing instability as they return back to school.  

The annual summer carnival will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, at First Baptist Church (14105 NW 39th Ave.)  

There will be carnival games, prizes, and bounce houses for everyone to enjoy.

Family Promise of Gainesville is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides shelter, meals and case management to homeless children and their families in Gainesville. 

Housing instability can have a significant impact on children’s education and their overall school experience. Family Promise aims to minimize the negative impact of homelessness on students’ education and provide them with a more stable and nurturing learning environment.

My wife and I both tested positive for COVID-19 mid-May and were sick for weeks and felt lousy for more weeks after. I promise you that we won’t go to some carnival full of people acting like everything’s all back to normal. 😷
