The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will host two hybrid public meetings to discuss the proposed improvements for State Road 24 (Waldo Road) on Oct. 17 and 19.

The proposed improvements for SR 24 include a resurfacing project from west of NE 141st Drive to US 301 and maintaining the same number of travel lanes through Waldo that currently exist, along with an emphasis on crosswalks at Cole Street, a rectangular rapid flashing beacon at Earle Street, improvements at Waldo Road and US 301 and a new bicycle lane in front of the First Baptist Church.

According to the FDOT website, the first meeting will take place virtually starting with an online open house from 5:30 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17. The presentation and public comment period starts at 6 p.m.

No mention that the DOT plan to reduce the lane was rejected by citizens of waldo and now the second meeting is scheduled which I think will pass . This 2nd plan will include flashing lights at one intersection and some other amendments.
