“The Life Story of Christopher Scott: Gun Violence is Preventable” is a documentary produced by youth about the impacts of gun violence following the death of 13-year-old Christopher Scott who was killed in the local American Legion Hall shooting in 2021.
The project was produced by Filming with a Purpose, an afterschool program of Dream on Purpose, Inc. where students explored the issue of gun violence with a mental health counselor.
Both productions are partially funded by One Nation One Project GNV, the city of Gainesville’s local take on a national initiative to improve youth health and wellbeing through the arts.
Editor’s note: “The Life Story of Christopher Scott” was originally scheduled to air on June 29, but that date was canceled. A rescheduled date has not been announced.
When are the 2025 dates the two prevent gun violence productions are going to be aired? Thx!
