
Meridian Healthcare will host its ninth annual “Steps to Wellness” luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Best Western Gateway Grand Hotel in Gainesville.
Check-ins for the event will start at 11 a.m. and the program will begin at 11:30 a.m. at 4200 NW 975th Blvd. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
The theme for this year’s transformative event is, “It Takes Heart: A Thriving Community Growing Together.” The event is a celebration of community and a shared commitment to wellness. For more than 50 years, Meridian Healthcare has been dedicated to supporting mental health and those facing substance use challenges throughout North Central Florida.
The keynote speaker is Kevin Stamper, who also serves as the vice president of development with Lutheran Services of Florida. The title of his presentation is, “Cultivating Community in a Culture of Isolation.”
Meridian’s billing manager, Ronnie Williams, a 10-year employee with the organization, will share his professional journey with the organization as well as a personal story. Dave Snyder, lead anchor with WCJB TV 20, will serve as the guest MC.
“This year’s theme rallies partners, supporters, sponsors and the community to celebrate thriving and growing, collectively,” said Kandra Albury, VP of Marketing and Advancement, in a press release. “This event allows us to recognize the significant parts that we all play when it comes to wellness in our lives, our families and in our communities.”
Attendees can bid on silent auction items showcasing beautiful art pieces, jewelry, gift certificates, trips and more. Some of the items include tickets to Wild Adventures, Dinosaur World, Cade Museum, Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo, UF Gator basketball games and more.
