The concert will take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 8, in the Spanish Court at the Historic Thomas Center (302 NE Sixth Ave., Gainesville).

Unlike traditional jazz or bluegrass improvisation, the musicians will begin without a planned musical structure. Instead, they will rely on careful communication, spontaneous ideas and their responses to one another to shape each performance.

Each piece will develop organically as the performers interact, resulting in original compositions that have never been played before and will never be heard again.
