Oak Hall School in Gainesville recently earned Platinum status on the Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Roll – the highest level of distinction awarded through the College Board’s AP Recognition Program.
According to an Oak Hall press release, “The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs deliver results for students while broadening participation.” Schools can earn this honor annually based on criteria “that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit and maximizing college readiness.”
To achieve Platinum status, schools must enable 80% of seniors to take at least one AP exam, the release said, with 50% of the seniors scoring a 3 or higher and another 15% taking five or more AP exams. Oak Hall surpassed these benchmarks with the following results:
- 91% of seniors took at least one AP Exam during high school (Platinum benchmark: 80%).
- 80% of seniors scored a 3 or higher on at least one AP Exam (Platinum benchmark: 50%).
- 58% of seniors took five or more AP Exams during their high school career (Platinum benchmark: 15%).
Oak Hall School in Gainesville currently offers 25 Advanced Placement courses across seven disciplines, the release said, presenting “a diverse and challenging curriculum for its record enrollment of nearly 960 students.”
