Porters Quarters Community Farm will be hosting a Thanksgiving Harvest Festival that will celebrate the rich agricultural heritage of Florida.
The festival will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Porters’ Quarters Community Farm (500-598 SW 3rd St.) in Gainesville.
This festival is being held to raise awareness and support for the Porters Quarters garden and community.
There will also be a tour of the garden, a crock-pot cook-off, a jarring workshop, and a sweet potato pie auction made with sweet potatoes that come straight from the garden.
Participants can also meet and greet with dedicated black and local farmers, who will share their stories, wisdom, and traditions passed down through generations.
This event is free and open to the public.
