Iced coffee on wooden table with coffee beans

Summer does not officially start until June 20, but it’s already hot—91 degrees with plenty of humidity today.

So no heated dish for My Foodie Recipe! Instead, how about a tasty, chilled, refreshing iced drink?

I actually have some experience as a part time barista, because my wife ran a coffee shop in Oregon years ago. After my radio show I would go in and make a few drinks for customers.

Many coffee shops have a different variation of what you’ll learn about this tasty treat, so here goes. When this drink is completed, it should taste just like a Snickers candy bar.

The best part is that you only need a few ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup coffee (hot)
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • 1/2 cup milk or half and half
  • 1 tsp hazelnut syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla syrup
  • 1 tsp caramel syrup

I use the Torani brand of coffee syrups. You may also substitute sugar free of these flavors, too!

To hear how to put all these together to get the creamiest iced drink you can imagine, listen to this week’s 5-minute episode of the My Foodie Recipe podcast.

One more thing: You can also ask a coffee shop to make this for you. If you ask for an iced Snickers and they don’t know what you are talking about, let them know the syrup flavors, the chocolate and milk amounts, and a good barista will be able to do that for you.

Either way, enjoy your new summer drink!
