A 55-year-old Alachua man died Wednesday morning when he drove his pickup into the side of a tractor-trailer turning from the Dollar General Distribution Center in Alachua onto County Road 235A.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 34-year-old Ocala man was turning from the Dollar General Distribution Center at 5:55 a.m. and turning left onto CR 235A just south of County Road 2054. The Alachua man was traveling south on CR 235A and struck the side of the trailer.
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead on scene.
