The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will conduct a regular meeting on Tuesday.
The meeting begins at 11:30 a.m. and includes a COVID-19 discussion. The evening portion of the meeting is canceled.
According to the meeting backup documents, the COVID-19 discussion will address restarting a vaccine incentive program that will last from Jan. 12 to Feb. 28 and include a $400,000 booster program for the public and another $400,000 for county employees who will receive $250 to each employee for a COVID booster shot.
A hearing to consider amending the Unified Land Development Code will address increasing Accessory Dwelling Units maximum size to 1,700 square feet, new rules for RM zoning (multiple residences) that include reducing minimum acreage from 5 acres to 2 acres, reducing lot size from 3,000 square feet to 1,200 square feet, and allowing RVs.
Other items on the agenda include a presentation on litter and illegal dumping in Alachua County and ways it is being addressed through volunteer and staff efforts and the recognition of Non-Congregate Shelter (NCS) for COVID-19 teams.
The Commission will take public comment in person or by calling 1-800-741-8011. Masks are required regardless of vaccination status. The public may view the meeting on Cox Channel 12 and the County’s Video on Demand website.
