The Department of Health has added 5,511 new cases to the Florida COVID-19 Dashboard, bringing the total positive test count to 109,014 cases as of the June 23rd report.
The bar chart representing the “New Cases by Day” figures was topped off at 3,000 on the number of cases axis on Monday but has now been reconfigured to reach 6,000 in anticipation of the surge in cases reported over the past four days.
Alachua County positive tests are now 807 up from 760 reported on June 22.
Statewide hospitalizations are at 13,574, an increase of 258.
15.91% of new cases tested positive, which is the highest percentage on record.
3,281 people have died from the virus, an increase of 43 over the day before.
The some towns surrounding Gainesville are showing a rise in cases. Newberry is at 37 cases, High Springs is at 15, Alachua 29, Archer is at 9, Hawthorne is at 8, Waldo 7, Micanopy at 5.
Neighboring counties case totals are Levy County at 154, Gilchrist County 88, and Columbia County at 243 cases.
