A Gainesville man died when his pickup veered off State Road 20 and hit the tree line on Wednesday morning.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the man was driving west on SR 20 just east of SE 60th Terrace at 5:58 a.m. in extremely rainy conditions when his Toyota Tacoma left the road.
Alachua County Fire Rescue declared the man deceased on scene.
