
- Tierra Anne Scott-Franklin was indicted for first-degree premeditated murder after allegedly drowning her infant child on Jan. 14 in Gainesville.
- Geremy Navarro and Nathaniel Kendrick were indicted for first-degree murder and related charges in a June 5, 2022 shooting that killed Zhane Sanders at Palms of Archer apartments.
Three people have been indicted in separate homicide cases following presentations made to the Alachua County Spring Term Grand Jury.
According to a State Attorney’s Office press release sent on Monday, the grand jury returned indictments on Thursday against Tierra Anne Scott-Franklin, Geremy Navarro and Nathaniel Kendrick after reviewing evidence and testimony related to two separate investigations.
Scott-Franklin, 23, was indicted on one count of first-degree premeditated murder in connection with the death of her infant child.



The indictment stems from a Jan. 14 investigation by the Gainesville Police Department at Sweetwater Apartments, located at 3501 N.E. 15th St. Officers responding to reports of a disturbance discovered a child in medical distress. The grand jury reviewed evidence and testimony from investigators alleging that Scott-Franklin drowned her infant child.
The grand jury returned a true bill indicting Scott-Franklin on the first-degree murder charge.
In a separate case, Navarro, 23, and Kendrick, 26, were indicted in connection with a June 5, 2022, fatal shooting at the Palms of Archer apartment complex, located at 7117 S.W. Archer Road.
According to authorities, deputies with the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene after reports of a shooting and found Zhane Sanders suffering from gunshot wounds. Sanders later died at a hospital.
Following an investigation, sheriff’s detectives identified Navarro and Kendrick as suspects in Sanders’ death.
After reviewing evidence and hearing testimony from law enforcement witnesses, the grand jury returned true bills indicting Navarro and Kendrick on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and shooting or throwing a deadly missile into dwellings.
Kendrick was also indicted on an additional charge of shooting from a vehicle within 1,000 feet of a person.
Judge Susan Miller-Jones received the grand jury’s findings. Scott-Franklin, Navarro and Kendrick were remanded to the custody of the Alachua County Jail and ordered held without bond on the first-degree murder charges.
