Breaking News: Pedestrian killed on US-90 in Suwannee County

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a pedestrian fatality this morning in Suwannee County.

A pickup truck, driven by a 49-year-old female from Live Oak, was westbound on US-90 and West Tower Road at approximately 6:26 am. The pedestrian, a  43-year-old man also from Live Oak, was on the northern shoulder of US-90.

For unknown reasons, the pedestrian stepped out into the center area of the westbound lane of US-90. The front of pickup truck hit the man, and stopped in the westbound lane of US-90 facing west.

According to the FHP report, the pedestrian died from the injuries sustained in the collision.

The FHP did not release the names of the driver or the pedestrian.
