Single-vehicle crash kills Gainesville man, 24, in Putnam County early Saturday

A Gainesville man, 24, died after his vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree on State Road 21 early Saturday morning.  

The crash occurred around 3:40 a.m. in Putnam County and just north of State Road 20. Florida Highway Patrol reports the man was declared dead at the scene and was not wearing a seat belt.
