A 47-year-old Morriston man died Tuesday night when his motorcycle left County Road 464B in Marion County and collided with a tree.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was traveling west on CR 464B near NW 157th Court at 10:45 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve to the right. The driver crossed the centerline and traveled off the road onto the south grass shoulder where he struck a tree.

Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene.
