Old Town man dies in accident

A 29-year-old Old Town man died early Monday morning when his pickup left NE 272nd Avenue and hit several trees.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the driver was traveling eastbound on NE 272nd Avenue toward State Road 349 north of Old Town around 1:45 a.m. when his pickup left the roadway onto the north shoulder where it struck several trees and he was ejected from the vehicle. 

Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
