According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Pahokee man was driving an SUV southbound on US 19 near NW 521st Street at 11:25 a.m. when he failed to slow down for a pickup truck pulling a trailer that was hauling another pickup truck also traveling southbound on US 19, driven by a 43-year-old Orlando man.

The SUV collided with the rear of the trailer and lost control, crashing into a guardrail before overturning. Both the driver and passenger, neither of whom was wearing seatbelts, were ejected from the SUV.
