Firefighters contained a blaze that engulfed a residential home on SW 57th Road in Gainesville on Thursday.
According to an Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) release, ACFR and Gainesville Fire Rescue responded to the blaze around 5:30 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found the blaze engulfed the structure. Firefighters extinguished the fire that did extensive damage to the house, which was declared a total loss, but were able to contain the fire before it spread to adjacent properties.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
