An SUV hit and killed a woman who was walking in the center southbound lane of Interstate 75 near the Micanopy exit on Tuesday morning.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 57-year-old Miami woman was driving an SUV southbound on I-75 near mile marker 374 in Alachua County at 12:10 a.m. when she struck a woman walking in the center southbound lane.
Emergency responders pronounced the female pedestrian dead on scene.
Neither the driver nor the passengers of the SUV, which included a 51-year-old Miami woman and a 20-year-old Miami woman, were injured.
