Update (Oct. 15, 3 pm): Gainesville Police Department (GPD) detectives are seeking assistance in locating Martrell Carter, 19, and Orion Davis, 17, in connection to the shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday at the Green Apple Store. Both suspects have warrants issued for their arrest.

A woman sustained life-threatening injuries when she was shot Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of NE 16th Avenue and NE Waldo Road.
The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) responded to the incident at 3:30 p.m. where multiple shots were fired from two directions near the Green Apple Liquor store parking lot.
According to the GPD report, the victim was transported by emergency responders to UF Health Shands. Detectives are currently on scene collecting evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.
GPD is directing anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact GPD Detective Ryan McCazzio at 352-393-7611. This shooting is one of many that have plagued Alachua County in recent months. On Sunday morning, 19-year-old Gainesville man Kionne Atkins was shot at a block party near Copeland Park in Alachua. Atkins was transported to UF Health Shands Hospital where he later died.
A wave of summer gun violence caused GPD to create a response program, which was released in late August. In July authorities said they believe members of the community are protecting the persons responsible for the spate of violence
