Bell sweeps Union County in season opener

On Friday night, the Bell volleyball team swept visiting Union County (Lake Butler) 25-16, 25-23, 25-13 to move to 1-0 on the season.  Senior Taria Liles had 12 kills and five aces, and senior Maddy Sapp had 15 kills to help lead the Bulldogs to the win. 

Bell junior Emma Hutto led the offense with 19 assists, while sophomore teammate Ashlee Thomas had five blocks.  The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Oak Hall School of Gainesville tomorrow night at 6.  

On Saturday at the Dixie County Invitational, the Trenton volleyball team defeated Lafayette (Mayo) in four sets while Dixie County lost 3-1 to Lafayette.  Dixie County will host Chiefland tonight at 6:30, and Trenton will host Chiefland tomorrow night at 6:30.  Bronson will host Williston tomorrow night at 6.
