Blaskowski was a star swimmer and trailblazer for girl’s water polo in Alachua County

Today’s senior spotlight is on Zoe Blaskowski of the Gainesville High School varsity swimming and Water Polo teams.

Blaskowski went to the state swim meet as a freshman in Duval County for the 50 backstroke and the 200 medley. She was named Duval County All Conference High School Swimmer as a freshman while swimming for Atlantic Coast High School in Jacksonville. She also won the Duval County Silver Scholastic Art Award. 

After transferring to GHS, she qualified for the state in the 200 medley relay as a sophomore in 2017.

Blaskowski was also the varsity goalie and team captain for the Gainesville High School girls water polo team.

At GHS, she was an honor roll student in the Cambridge program. She also won the AP Human Geography Award. She was a part of the first-ever girls water polo team in Alachua County. She had 85 blocks, 20 steals and one assist in the 2020 season. 

Blaskowski will attend the University of Florida and plans on studying Astrophysics or Biology.
