Columbia High School softball star will answer a higher calling after graduation

Today’s senior spotlight is on Cadence Mirra of the Lake City Columbia softball team.

Mirra’s senior campaign was off to a good start, with a .304 batting average, two doubles, six runs driven in, and seven runs scored for the 9-3 Tigers. She was also a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen base attempts.

In her final game in a Tiger uniform against Space Coast on March 7th, Mirra was 1-for-3 with a run scored, a double, and two runs driven in as Columbia won the game 12-1 to send the seniors out on top.

Cadence Mirra of Columbia High School.

Mirra was one of five seniors for the Lake City Columbia softball team. Her most memorable softball moment was their last home game how every at bat she was able to look in the stands and see her family and friends all together supporting her. She gave a special thanks to her dad, who was her coach growing up and softball was their way to bond.

He introduced her to the game, and he was always her number one fan in the stands.

Mirra’s favorite quote:

“There is POWER in the tongue. When prayers go up, Blessings come down.”

Mirra will attendt Saint Leo University in the fall, and after completing her education, she go into the Florida Highway Patrol Academy.

Mirra had planned to compete at the next level in softball, but instead God took her down another path. Mirra is very grateful for the offers, but her future is beyond softball.
