Today’s senior spotlight is on Lailah Eary of the Belleview High School softball team.
Eary was a career .400 hitter for the Rattlers, as well as an Ocala Star Banner 2nd team All-Area selection. She was batting .444 this season for the 11-0 and nationally-ranked Rattlers, who were off to their best start in school history and were also ranked No. 1 in the state in Class 4A. She was leading the team with five doubles and 18 runs driven in.
Her best game this season was in February against county rival North Marion. She was 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and a season-high five runs driven in.
Eary was one of seven seniors for the Belleview softball team. Her favorite high school sports moments were the conversations in the circle with her teammates before an inning and joking around with her coaches.
Eary’s favorite quote is “Where there’s a will there’s a way.”
After Belleview High School, Lailah Eary plans to go to the College of Central Florida to study agricultural management.
