Today’s Rising Senior spotlight is on Jerohn Gordon of Gainesville High School. Gordon will participate in football and track & field during his senior year for the Hurricanes.

Jerohn Gordon of Gainesville High School

His favorite high school sports moment was against Baker County. The opposing running back received a screen pass and Gordon was able to trip him up in open space. However, Gordon broke his arm on the play and never told his coach or subbed out of the game. A few plays later a wideout made a big catch but the drive stalled, and Baker County was held to three points. Then on the next drive, Gordon intercepted a pass with a broken arm to keep his team in the game and send it into overtime.

Gordon finished his junior season with 21 tackles, one interception, five pass break-ups, and one forced fumble despite only playing in five games due to injury.
