Game time: Listen to West Port vs. Hawthorne

It’s game time again! Tonight marks Week 5 of the 2021 high school football season.

As we announced previously, this year we are bringing you two games live each week—one at 106.9 I Am Country and one here at mainstreetdailynews.com.

The 0-4 West Port Wolf Pack fell 15-12 to Forest (Ocala) last Friday, while Hawthorne remains undefeated at 3-0 after decimating Newberry, 48-7, on the road. The Hornets have only allowed one offensive touchdown this season.

Pre-game begins at 7:15 p.m., with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. exclusively at Mainstreet Daily News.

Over at 106.9 I Am Country, Mike Ridaught and Cameron Parker will call the game between the winless Santa Fe (Alachua) Raiders and the 3-1 Gainesville Hurricanes at Citizen’s Field. The pre-game show starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by kickoff at 7 p.m.

The Raiders enter the contest 0-3 after leading in all three of their games this season, including a 15-0 halftime edge at Fort White last Friday, only to see the host Indians win 28-15.

The Hurricanes exploded on offense last Friday in a 57-16 road victory over Palm Coast Matanzas.
