Glenna Li blazed a trail in track and cross country for Buchholz

Today’s senior spotlight is on Glenna Li of the Buchholz High School cross country and track teams.

Glenna Li of Buchholz High School

Li was a district, regional, and state meet qualifier. Her goal for this past cross country season was to break 20 minutes, which she reached initially at the FSU Invitational in mid-October with a personal best time of 19:52.90 in the 5K, and then topped that at the state meet by 17 seconds in November with a time of 19:35.90 to earn a top 40 finish.

Her favorite high school sports moment was qualifying for the cross country state meet as a team. The Lady Bobcats finished 20th overall at this year’s FHSAA Cross Country Finals.

Li would have likely qualified again for the FHSAA Class 4A Track & Field state championships, which would have been held in May on the campus of the University of Florida. She ran the 1600 in a time a 5:26.

Her favorite quote is by motivational speaker Jim Rohn who said, “Either run the day or the day runs you.”

Li has been accepted to and will attend the University of Florida.
