Newberry Panthers rally to beat Bartram Trail; Bell Bulldogs sweep St. John’s Lutheran

The Newberry Volleyball team picked up a huge win on the road on Tuesday night. The Class 1A Panthers rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Class 7A Bartram Trail in St. Johns County. 

Newberry, which improved to 16-3, closes out its regular season at Union County tomorrow night at 6:30.

On Monday night, the Bell volleyball team got back in the win column with a sweep of St. John Lutheran (Ocala). Taria Liles had 23 kills, Maddy Sapp finished with 14 kills, and 3 aces, and Emma Hutto had 31 assists. Bell, which improved to 16-4 after falling at Gainesville on Monday night, wraps up the regular season at home against Oak Hall School (Gainesville) on Thursday night.

Oak Hall Football team featured on The Prep Zone

Tonight from 7-8 p.m. the Oak Hall football team will be our guests on “The Prep Zone” sports show from Sonic Drive-in of Gainesville.  The Eagles dropped down to play 8-man football this season and they are off to a 4-0 start.  Oak Hall has a young team that includes 10 eighth graders, nine freshmen, four sophomores, one junior and only three seniors in the program.  They will be transition back to 11-man football in the Sunshine State Athletic Conference in 2021.
