Today’s Rising Senior spotlight is on Andrew Pickens of Oak Hall School.  Pickens will participate in football, basketball, and baseball during his senior season.

Last year as a junior he was a Gainesville Sun First Team All-Area on offense after catching 35 passes for 619 yards and nine touchdowns. He was also the Oak Hall School Male Athlete of the year.

His goals for his senior season are to win the conference title in football and win the district title in basketball and in baseball.

Pickens is one of just four seniors for the Eagles, who will play 8-man football this season in the Sunshine State Athletic Conference.

Pickens’ favorite high school sports moment was winning the first FHSAA playoff game in school history last season against rival St. Francis Catholic. He currently has college interest from Middlebury College in Vermont, Williams College in Massachusetts, Rhodes College in Tennessee, and Liberty University in Virginia.

Oak Hall will open up the season this Friday night at home against Lakeside Christian. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
