Sports beat: Union County baseball team still undefeated

The Union County (Lake Butler) baseball team improved to 8-0 with a 14-1 win at P.K. Yonge on Thursday night.

Manny Covey reached base five times and scored three runs for the Tigers. Quentin Rawls added three hits and drove in three runs.

P.K. Yonge, which dropped to 8-2, will travel to Cedar Key tonight at 6 p.m., while Union County will host Lafayette (Mayo) tonight at 7 p.m.

Elsewhere, Columbia (Lake City) lost at Hamilton County (Jasper), 6-3, to drop to 5-3. The Tigers are at Middleburg tonight at 6:30 p.m.
