St. Francis Catholic Academy senior William Collett hit an off-balance 3-pointer in the left corner with five seconds to play as the No. 4 seed Wolves eliminated No. 5 Oak Hall, 59-56, in the 2A-District 2 Quarterfinals.
Collett, who single-handily outscored Countryside Christian with 29 points on Jan. 23, led the way with 27 points.
The Wolves (14-8) will play at top-seed P.K. Yonge (8-16) in Wednesday’s district semifinals.
Class 4A-District 5
It’s been a tough year for the Eastside boys basketball team.
The Rams only won three games all season.
But on Monday night at home in the Class 4A-District 5 Quarterfinals, the No. 4 seeded Rams held on for a 52-48 win against No. 5 seed Dunnellon to keep its season alive.
Eastside (4-18) will play at top-seed North Marion (Citra) (16-7) on Wednesday in the district semifinals.
